Why do you want serve in the positions you’ve selected?

The experience of RYLA was unforgettable and I desperately would love to give another junior or senior in high school the life changing experience that I got to have. I would love to lead other students through the camp and help them to experience the program to the fullest. I’d love to give back to others the gratitude I have for what this camp does to others.

How has your experience as RYLA participante impacted you?

My life before RYLA was full of negativity and it was getting to my confidence. There were many factors leading right up days before RYLA that effected my outlook on the experience. I was not excited to attend and did not want to leave my home for days on end. When I arrived at RYLA and experienced the multiple days of constant action I could not have been happier. There were points where I honestly felt like RYLA was home. I was surrounded with people who genuinely cared about others and that forever has changed my outlook on friendships. I came home a much better person than I went to RYLA as. Many of my friends noticed my new outlook and I was proud of the person I had become for the first time in years. RYLA gave me confidence to be the person I want to be, not the person people expect me to be.

How do you feel you can contribute and grow RYLA?

I feel like I can make a positive impact on our impressionable youth. Being fresh out of high school I offer a young opinion and relatability to the campers. As a recent camper I experienced the unconditional support from my junior counselor and I feel as if I can express my unconditional support as well. I would love to bond with the team provided and make the best experience for all RYLA attendees.
