Why do you want serve in the positions you’ve selected?

I would love to have the position as a Junior counselor because I would love to stay a part of RYLA. RYLA has taught me a lot of things. RYLA has truly changed my life day by day I made amazing memories. RYLA was a safe place. RYLA was a place I was able to be myself. I would hope to be a Junior Counselor because I want to have an impact on a group of kids the way Hunter Hawk and Kiersten Lange had on me. Kiersten and Hunter both pushed me to be the best I can be. they helped show me that it’s okay to test my limits to spread out my thoughts of things, and also push myself to be the best I can be. I want to be able to provide the same compassion and leadership to a group of kids that Kiersten and Hunter did for me. I love being able to meet new people and help others find their way even though situations that sometimes seem impossible! for example, I am a daycare teacher! I work with all age groups from 6 weeks and up. Being able to work with the students at the daycare is something I fell in love with. I love coming up with a solution to everything. I love working with everyone RYLA not only taught me how to be a better leader at home and in front of friends but it has helped me become a leader at work and socially. I feel that being a junior counselor would not only do me good but maybe one day I can have as much as an impact on other kids the way hunter and Kiersten did for me. That is why I would love to come back as a junior counselor in 2022!

How has your experience as RYLA participante impacted you?

My Experience at RYLA in July of 2021 is something I can never forget! RYLA has changed my life. from learning social skills to a proper etiquette dinner. my favorite part was probably the speakers we had. building teams skills was something else I also enjoyed. working together problem-solving was my favorite part. for example like the Italian construction! my group and I all put our heads together to work as one! now the tower may not have held up like we would have liked it to but it taught us communication skills! helping each other communicate is key to almost everything! RYLA has brought me many very good lifelong skills I hope that more kids get to have the experience I was able to have in 2021!

How do you feel you can contribute and grow RYLA?

I feel that I can help contribute to RYLA and help grow by helping out in any way I can! me and another student would also like to get ahold of the rotary club in my community to talk to them about how we can start up an interact club! I would love to volunteer and help out my community! starting up an interact club would help spread the word about what the rotary and RYLA could do for us! the rotary and RYLA give us kids amazing opportunities like going abroad! life long skills! leadership etc…The rotary is something I hope to be come part of when I’m older! I would love to do anything in my power to stay a part of this amazing opportunity!
