Vision

Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

When I saw the application to RYLA I was very excited to apply, I really wanted to see what it was all about. People have described me as a leader, and I thought that this could be a very cool opportunity to become more of a leader, have fun with new people from around Nebraska, and maybe find some new interests to help me figure out what I want to do with my future. As a member of our local Leo Club, and 4-H Council I would love to learn how to be a better helping hand in my community and be able to help lead anyone who might wanna follow in the same direction. Overall I think that RYLA is a great program to help kids venture out into the unknown, without technology, and just figure out what they truly want to become.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

When I think about “service above self” a lot of things come to mind, but to me personally. It is all about going out of your way to do things for others, no matter the cost to you. It also means to truly just be there even if it interferes with your own plans in order to help with whatever the service may be. All in all, as long as you are there to support and be there for anyone who needs it, that’s all “service above self” means
