Vision
Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.
I firmly believe the RYLA experience will help me grow and strengthen my leadership skills. The opportunity to work with other student leaders and participate in leadership workshops will undoubtedly help me better understand my strengths and weaknesses and amplify my confidence and communication skills. Given my current background and interests, this year’s focus strongly aligns with my own. With my previous volunteering experience, I can act as a knowledgeable resource. I am ecstatic with the chance to learn more about ways we can act as a community to help others and learn how to become an emerging leader in this sector.
Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?
The motto “service above self” is something I resonate with as well. I strongly believe that by embodying this motto we can help build stronger communities. This guiding principle emphasizes the importance of compassion, and the positive change in the communities. By embracing the principle of “service above self,” it inspires to make a meaningful impact in our community and beyond, setting an example for our future peers to follow.
