Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

What I hope to gain from going to the RYLA camp is building communication and problem-solving skills that I will use for the rest of my life. Meeting new people from other states will help me learn how to work with people I’ve never worked with before. I want to learn more about leadership and bring that back to my school and community. I want to see my potential and see how much this camp will not only help me but then I can help others. Lastly, I want to have a lot of fun and gain lasting friendships.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

“Service above self” means to me that you always have to think on how to improve others lives before yourself. Putting others first helps me know that I positively impacted someone else’s life in a good way.

Zesto Ice Cream Shop- (Started April 2023 – still employed)
-Opening -my responsibilities include: prepping food, making ice cream base, bagging frozen food, and going to the grocery store to grab extra supplies that are needed.
-Closing- my responsibilities include: dishes, floors, taking garbage out, cleaning ice cream and pop machines, cleaning front and back room, and filling any candy/flavoring that may be out.
