Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

I hope to gain more confidence in my leadership skills. I also hope to be able to apply anything I learn to my daily life. I am currently taking a Leadership and Service class at North-East Technical High School, and I hope that going to RYLA to learn more about leadership will help me choose a career for my future as well.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

Service above self means putting others before yourself to me. It means helping someone out when you see them struggling. When you see someone about to give up, encourage them and give them advice. You should not be trying to stick out from everyone else, but instead try to work to build others up.
