Why do you want serve in the positions you’ve selected?

When I attended RYLA, it was one of the most impactful leadership camps I’ve ever been to. The combination of leadership and service taught me so many life lessons. The skills and knowledge that I learned from this week, have carried on with me throughout the years. Not only did these techniques help myself throughout the year, but I have told other peers about RYLA and the leadership skills and techniques I have learned.

How has your experience as RYLA participante impacted you?

RYLA impacted me in more ways than I can express. Not only did RYLA strengthen the four-way test within myself, but it grew my love for community outreach. Throughout college, I have continued to stay involved within Rotaract. RYLA taught me how to be a better leader. Throughout college I have held, and continue to hold leadership positions. In these positions by often find myself reflecting back on lessons I learned from RYLA. Additionally, I learned how to socialize and grow relationships with people that I had nothing in common with. RYLA gave me the confidence to continue to meet new people and gain amazing peers and professional relationships.

How do you feel you can contribute and grow RYLA?

I think I would be a great asset to help grow Great Plains RYLA. I have held leadership positions since my freshman year of high school, and have held a leadership position every year since. Through every experience, I have gained more knowledge and has learned countless valuable lessons. I would be able to use this knowledge with my group, and give them advice based on situations I have been in. In addition to learning how to lead a group of people and bring them together, I have also learned how to be a cohesive team player. Personally, I strongly believe in the importance of a leader knowing how to be a strong team player. Additionally, I am very extroverted and know how to connect with it all sorts of people. I know this will allow me to make a cohesive team! RYLA taught me an incredible amount of knowledge regarding leadership, community outreach, and overall life skills. All I wanna do is be able to give back to those attending RYLA and help them have a once in a lifetime experience as well.
