Vision
Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.
At RYLA I hope to gain confidence in building relationships with other people. I’m not a shy person, in fact, I am very outgoing. Creating relationships can be scary for anyone but I would love to meet more people! Of course, I would also love to gain more leadership skills. My hope is that this camp will help prepare me to be more confident in the skills that I possess. I love attending summer camps, especially when they are beneficial to my skill sets.
Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?
At my school, service hours are required to graduate. I’ve never had any problem completing the required service hours, I always complete them before the first semester is over. I like to do the service hours, they are an easy way to make an impact on another person’s day. I’ve always gone above the required number of service hours, simply, because I enjoy doing them. If I have the time in my schedule I will probably be at my church or school volunteering.
