Vision

Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

RYLA is an opportunity of a lifetime that is providing the ability to connect and build relationships with others my age. I would be able to enhance my leadership and communication skills all throughout this camp by team work and team bonding activities that RYLA offers. By participating in this camp I would not only enhance my leadership and communication skills, but I would also be able to potentially build relationships that would last a lifetime. RYLA is also a great opportunity for teenagers like me to get out of their comfort zone and try new experiences.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

Service above self is about prioritizing duties and not expecting anything in return. I believe that to be a good person, one should be able to be good to others first. This means acknowledging that others may need help and doing all that one can to help them. Service and character have always been values I uphold dearly, and this motto represents it perfectly.
