Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

To gain leadership skills in a more hands on atmosphere, thru challenges and creative thinking. I thought the informational flyer provided information that I am striving to achieve and aligns with my goals in other activities I already participate in.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

“Service above self means” to me to do things for others and not yourself. I demonstrate this by being involved in numerous volunteer activities as outlined below.

Nursery during Church Worship services – since turning sixteen and ongoing
Operation Shine Camp thru Kids and Dreams Foundation for special need kids in June 2021, June 2022 and have signed up to volunteer for June 2023.
Pioneer Village Clean up day, thru our FFA Chapter March 2023
Concessions stands for Club Wrestling tournaments 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, as well as for activities I am involved in since 7th grade
Optimist Basketball Tournament clean up January 2022
Usher at the Minden Opera House event December 2022
Challenge Trip thru our Church, each day had several hours of mission/volunteering June 2022
