Vision

Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

I hope to increase my knowledge of how to be a future leader of our country. To be able to work in any environment and through any challenge that is thrown my way. This program also gives me the opportunity to strengthen my network as well as gain unique, valuable knowledge, and skills from other teammates. It also gives a chance for other people to learn from me. This opportunity allows my brain and abilities to be challenged in different ways. My goal is to go to the Air Force Academy and become a leader and protector of our country, to be able to accomplish change in the world, because every step can lead to development; a better world. This gives me the chance to expand on my skills and abilities that will enable me to be a future leader of our country, to take charge and help people within our community.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

Since my goal is to go to the Air Force Academy and become an officer and a future leader of our country, to me service above self means that the needs of my country and community come before the needs of myself.
