Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

I hope to gain a lot of new knowledge and skills to help me as I prepare to go abroad this summer.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

To me, “Service above self” means prioritizing the people in your community and their needs before taking your own wants and desires into consideration.

I do not have any specific daters but my FCCLA chapter has done a lot of volunteer work in the past. We have sewn little plushies for our Santa Cop organization as well as made blankets that got donated to a family shelter. I also volunteered at Camp Arrowhead over the summer as a lifeguard for them.

I have worked as a runner and hostess at The Nautical Rose at Johnson Lake from May 2024 to the present day as well as a lifeguard at the Lexington Family Aquatic Center from May to August 2025

Have you received any awards or honors? – Yes

List awards or recognition that you received for academic, school, or community activities beginning in the 7th grade

I have been recognized in all of my classes as a High Honor Roll student which requires a minimum of a 97% in all 4 quarters in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade and I have retained that position so far in my sophomore year. In my freshman year of the Speech team I did a Duet and placed in the top 6 of all the meets I attended. In my sophomore year I participated in One-Act and was awarded ‘Best Actor’ in every competition. So far this year in Speech I have an OID as well as a Duet have placed both of them in the top 6. In sports I have lettered in both cheer and dance.

I am a member of my schools Speech team for the last 2 years as well as one act. I also did cheer and have been a captain of my cheer team. During my summers I am a 3rd baseman for my softball team and I also have participated in the Summer Honors program for the last 2 years. I did FCCLA in 7th-9th grade and FFA in 8th grade.
