Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

With attending RYLA I hope to gain friendships, leadership qualities, and learn what I can do to better my community.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

“Service above self” is putting others’ needs above your own…especially those who are less fortunate than I am. Dedicating my time and efforts to help a cause rather than doing something that will only benefit myself is one of the biggest examples of that.

Past and Current Experience

St. Paul United Methodist Church – Vacation Bible School (Every summer since 2022), Technology on Sundays (almost every Sunday since 2022)
Tutoring as needed since 2021
St. Paul Interact Club (all have been since May 2023) – Trash Pickup, Activities at Brookefield Nursing Home, Christmas Gift wrapping

St. Paul Water Park – Works as a lifeguard providing preventative care for patrons in and around the swimming area, cleaning the pool deck, bathrooms, and guardhouse, and managing concessions during breaks and swim times. Employer: Kristy Smith Dates: May 2024-Current (Summer months)
