Vision

Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

By participating in RYLA I hope to gain leadership skills in the teaching field, as I would hope to teach a few dance classes next school year and am currently teaching church school students on Wednesdays. If any issue come up, I would like to be able to act on it with confidence when dealing with parents. I want to inspire young girls like my sister to lead and speak up when needed. I also would like to encourage the youth to participate in local events and oppurtunities. Learn how to pomote myself in job interviews and scholarsip letters wihtout feeling like I’m bragging about myself. It wil also help increase my skills with Student council.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

This motto means to not only put others above myslef, but also doing the right thing without recognition even if it’s not the popular thing to do to fit in with a crowd. I think people should just help others because that is the right thing to do, but also for myself it makes me feel better knowing I helped.
