Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

At RYLA, I hope to expand my leadership skills and connect with other driven young people. I’m really excited to meet peers who share my passion for service and innovation. In particular, I want to gain confidence as a leader so I can help my mom grow Rosella Flora, the flower shop she owns, and one day lead it myself to create a positive impact in our community.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

It means serving others before myself and making the world and my community better.
