Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

By participating in RYLA, I hope to become more well-rounded within my community and encourage myself to participate in community service projects more. I hope to meet new people with similar goals as I have and make connections with people outside of my area.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

To me, “service above self” means working hard to make your community better even when it seems like it does not directly benefit you. Because when we are servicing our community by planting trees or packing food boxes, we are also serving ourselves by making our home a place worth living in. Community is important, and the relationships we foster within our community by stepping up for one another are invaluable.

– Rotary/Interact: Packed/put away pipes and drapes from fundraiser (February 22, 2026)
– Feeding SD: Packed boxes of food (February 26, 2026)
