Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

I hope to gain better leadership skills and become more confident working with others. These skills will help me in the future by improving how I communicate, solving problems in a group, and learn to take initiative in leadership roles. I also hope to gain a better understanding of what makes a good leader. I also want to learn a better understanding of how to be responsible, supportive, and someone others can rely on.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

To me this means putting the needs of others before your own and choosing to help people without expecting anything in return. This is about being willing to make time and effort to support my community because I know it can make a positive difference in someone else’s life.

Community Clean-Up Volunteer (2025)
I participated in a local trash clean-up to help improve the environment and keep the community clean. I worked with a group to pick up public areas such as parks and roadsides. Demonstrated teamwork, responsibility, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

Monitor pool safety, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies. Maintain a safe environment and assist swimmers as needed.

Supervise children, prepare meals, help with homework, and ensure a safe, structured environment.
Dog Sitter (2020-Present)
Care for pets by feeding, walking, and following owner instructions. Ensure safety and well-being while owners are away.

I have been inducted into the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and was chosen as Student of the Month Freshman year. I am a member of NHS, which recognizes students for their grades, leadership, service, and character. Being a part of NHS shows that I work hard in school and try to be a positive role model for others. I am a member of SHS, which recognizes my achievement in learning Spanish. This shows my dedication to my studies and my interest in understanding another language and culture. Being selected as a student of the month shows that I put in effort and have a positive attitude at school. It reflects my commitment to doing my best and being respectful to others. I take pride in being recognized for my hard work and behavior.

I have participated in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, Cheer, and Band. In these sports I have developed teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Through FCA, I have been involved in activities that focus on faith, leadership, and encouraging others. In FBLA, I’ve had the opportunity to build leadership and communication skills while learning about business concepts. As a member of the Student Council, I have helped plan school events and activities that bring students together. Through Key Club, I have participated in volunteer opportunities and service projects that support my community. As a member of Interact Club, I have participated in service projects and activities focused on helping communities and others in need. I have participated in volunteer activities such as community clean-ups, where I worked with others to improve the environment. Through babysitting and dog sitting, I have developed responsibility, patience, and time management skills. I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active, which helps me stay balanced and focused.
