Please explain what you hope to gain by participating in RYLA.

By partaking in RYLA, I hope to gain knowledge on the Rotary Youth Exchange process. I strive to learn new people and better my efforts to become a more sociable person. I believe RYLA will give me the opportunity to meet new people with similar interests to my own in an environment fit to my needs.

Rotary’s motto is “service above self.” What does that mean to you?

Rotary’s motto, service above self, is a simple method of explaining that one’s actions shine more than their appearance. I believe the motto holds the ideals of action over appearance. The mottos means that one’s actions should be prioritized over self needs that only benefit one person instead of a group.
